Building integrated wind turbines (BIWT):
Building integrated wind turbines are capable of working close to buildings and exploiting any augmentation that the building causes to the wind flow. They can be supported independently to the building but will be considered within the building design.
Building mounted wind turbine (BMWT):
Building mounted wind turbine is physically attached to the building. The building is used as a tower to install the turbine at the desired wind flow.
Building augmented wind turbines (BAWT):
Building augmented wind turbines are turbines where buildings are used to purposely augment the flow of wind towards wind turbine.
